    Deities
(Will be adding more later. Since we're starting in Kanesen, only Adaria is completed for now.)

Humans, for the most part, worship Adaria (ah-dah-ria). The goddess of both light and life, Adaria was once considered to be the most powerful deity. Sadly, during the great flood her abilities were drained in the fight against the Dark Lord Vazrul, leaving her a shell of her former self. Thanks to her sacrifice, however, Edrae was not completely annihilated.

Modern art shows her to be a young woman with curly golden hair, often times in gold-plated armor.

Legend tells of Edrae once containing one huge continent surrounded by water, bathed in Adaria's light for nearly all hours of the day. It is said that her since her power has waned, so has her reach in providing light to the world. As such, only Marunda gets any visible sunlight -- and it's only for half a day.

Followers of Adaria have created the Adarian Disciples, a group dedicated to travelling the world teaching the word of their deity. In their ranks are clergymen, priests, clerics and paladins from all races of the world.

    ----------

Rylia is the deity of the elves and the earth. She was once considered beautiful beyond words, but Varzul's great flood aged her in both mind and body. She is now a withered old woman, it is said, and the elves believe the only way to help her regain her strength is by focusing on renewing the world.

She still bestows gifts upon those faithful to her, however; even non-elves in some cases.

    ----------

The gnomes worship Fazzdrack, oddly enough. They know little of him save for the fact that he's their home and provider, but they worship him regardless.

Some claim the High Dragon Rider knows more than he lets on concerning the giant dragon, but he will never speak of such things.

    ----------

Tarudun, god of dwarves, is a giant that died during the great flood. While attempting to combat Vazrul Tarudun was killed, sacrificing himself to give Adaria time to attack. The dwarves have never forgotten his sacrifice in the thousand years since.

    ----------

Vazrul is the deity of all things evil. He is responsible for Adaria's lost power, Rylia's deteriorating strength, and Tarudun's death.

Nothing is known about Vazrul, other than the fact that he resides in the shadow realm.

    ----------

The half-orcs are usually not concerned with deities, though they'll occasionally turn to Adaria and join the Adarian Disciples as paladins. Half-elves' beliefs vary as well, and halflings are usually agnostic.
