Karina thanked the young lad for his assistance and she went to find the one called Ames in order to get some real answers about what is going on in the citadel.

    Ceria:
    Spoiler:

    Basilius:

    Spoiler:

    -----------

Ames backs away from Karina, his face stricken with panic. "Get away from me, get back! I swear... I swear it if you even..." He clenches his teeth, his eyes brimming with tears. "I'll sacrifice you all if I have to! V... Vazrul! Spare me, take--"

He's abruptly interrupted by shouting from the courtyard, which is louder than the screams.

    ------------

Lieutenant Jaromir gazes up at the tower from under his helm, the other, much shorter guards scurrying to his side.

"Everyone, we need to get out - now! Let's go, we've still got time!"

The fate of the warden is thus left uncertain.

Cash leaves all the flying demons and moaning wounded to more experienced hands. In the meantime, he makes his way back to the Warden's room. As he bursts through the office door, he seems on the verge of a hysterical panic.

Karina took a step back in shock at Ames' blasphemous outburst then reluctantly leaving the poor soul, the cleric began to gather the others to flee to safety.

"A few more feet across the courtyard and I would be in pieces decorating the grounds." As the guards form up in front of the tower, Ceria rushes back down to the front door she had blocked moment before and pushes the table aside. She pushes the door open lightly and goes to stand with the remaining guards who have formed up their defense.

(Things might be getting a little complicated; if you're confused, feel free to ask questions.)

    Cash:
    Spoiler:

    -----------

You all manage to flee the tower, though you leave behind both the Captain -- who is curled in the fetal position, hands over his head -- and the supervisor, who no doubt has very little life left in him.

Outside the rain continues to pour down hard, and the thunder and lightning show no sign of stopping. The serpent-bat creature that was once Balthan continues to hover above the point of explosion.

Then, suddenly, he thrusts his hands forward, pointing at the assembled group of five guards, Jaromir, Ceria, Basilius, Cash and Karina.

The horrifying screams become louder, and strange creatures begin to pour out of the crater left by Balthan's explosion. They're small -- about the size of a halfling -- but their skin is a light gray and their eyes are milky white. Their hair stands up wildly and some have a light amount of facial hair.

They seem to be completely naked and wield no weapons, though their claws are sharpened.

Jaromir's eyes widen in response as the creatures pour out of the crater, and he promptly draws his longsword and points it forward.

    "Attack!"

Then the creatures come rushing out, leaping at the guards while screaming horrifically.

    -------

    Spoiler:

    (Each square represents 10 feet.)

(As you can see, there's a note to show where each thing is. For instance, Cash is at H4. Jarmoir is at I6. Basilius is at J3; Karina at J4. Ceria's at M4.

To specify what you're attacking, just give me the letter and number.

You're also given three full round actions per post. For instance, you can attack, run back, and attack again. Or attack three times. Or you can add variables, such as:

Jaromir attacks the creature at J7; provided he's successful in this first attack, he tries two more times. If he misses the first attack he decides to run back twenty feet and fire his loaded crossbow.

Again, if you're still confused, feel free to ask questions.)

    ---------

Initiative checks below in this order: Basilius (+6), Ceria (+5), Cash (+4), Karina (+1).

POST ORDER IS: BASILIUS, CASH, CERIA, KARINA

Prologue: The Citadel - Page 5 Empty Charge!

Basilius unsheats his sword, moves laterally so he has a clear shot to the hole in the ruins, and charges, screaming while looking at an enemy:
    - Courageee!

    ----

    Now in "game" terms:

    1st round:
    - Draw sword
    - Move to M5

    2nd round
    - Make Fighting Challenge to the enemy at J10
    - Charge to K9 attacking J10 (+2 attack -2 AC)

    3rd round
    - Attack J10 or enemy in reach, keeping in place
    - The idea is to bottle up the enemies in the ruins

Note: If is not possible to charge and bottle them Basilius runs in the 1st round to bottle them

    Two rolls
    1. Charge attack +4
    2. Normal attack +2 against J10 or +1 against other

    Round 1

    "Mmmmm... okay."

The Halfling wanders through the lines of screaming soldiers and carnivorous midgets until he finds himself looking up at the flying monster. Not one to misplace a good sense of solidarity, he decides to join in on the fun.

Move: Walk to (G7) and draw pistol
    Roll 1: Feint 1d20+6

    Round 2

"Looks like it's time to CLEAN HOUSE!"

After several moments pass, he realizes no-one is paying attention to him.
Infuriated, he fires wildly into the sky.

Roll 2: Failure chance 1d100 (1-10 jams it)
Roll 3: Attack 1d20+5 (flat-footed if Feint was successful)
    Roll 4: Damage 1d10+3
Roll 5: Sneak Attack Damage 1d6 (if Feint was successful)
Move: Walk back to starting position (H4)

    Round 3

Satisfied that he has made his point, the Halfling begins tinkering with the weapon in his hands.

    Full-round: Reload

    Spoiler:

Ceria sees the wild melee break out and readies herself. As Basilius crosses in front of her then charges in, she finds her nerves and follows him into the fray.

    Round One:

    Move to N5

    Round Two:

Assuming Basilius successfully enters square K9, Ceria moves into L9 and if there are two or more enemies in the cone, fires her Color Spray from the top right corner of L9 so it wouldn't hit Basilius. If there is only one enemy, she readies a melee attack for a creature that enters K10.

    Round Three:

If there are two or more enemies in the cone, fires her Color Spray from the top right corner of L9 so it wouldn't hit Basilius. If there is only one enemy, she readies a melee attack for a creature that enters K10.

Color Spray DC vs Will: 15
Melee Roll If required in round 2: 1D20+0
    Damage If Hit: 1D4+0
Melee Roll if required in round 3: 1D20+0
    Damage If Hit: 1D4+0
